Burglars strike at Sai Baba temple, swipe cash box

The 'night gang' which has struck terror in the hearts of Kandivali residents with a spate of burglaries in the suburbs, hit the local Sai Baba temple on Sunday and made away with collections from the donations box.

The gang which has burgled a medical store, a grocery store, and an auto rickshaw in the last few days, struck at the local temple on Sunday night, taking away cash and other valuables.

Grocery shop owner Rupesh Bora told Mumbai Live, "This incident took place on Thursday night around 2.30 am.  The gang broke into the Purva  medical store and decamped with the cash amounting to some lakhs and other valuables in the store. Then the gang broke the lock of the doors of the grocery shop and entered the shop from there. They also looted a parked autorickshaw. In the latest incident, the gang struck at the Sai Baba temple in Kandivali on Sunday night and took away the cash after breaking the lock of the hundi.

A case was registered with the Kandivali police station before the hit at the temple.
