Sion- A serial chain snatcher, who followed an unusual modus operandi, has finally landed in the police net.
20 year old Kasim Mukhtar Irani was caught red handed by the Sion police while attempting to snatch a chain off a passerby. Further investigaion revealed that the youth was a history sheeter. More than 13 chain snatching cases have been reported against him in the areas of Sion, Matunga, Thane and Kalyan. His unique modus operandi involved changing his partners in crime every time. Irani was also fond of committing his crimes right under the nose of CCTV cameras in every area, thumbing his nose at the authorities. The Sion police, who were on the lookout for the elusive youth, finally caught up with him in the Sion market on Tuesday, ending his merry run.
