Bhiwandi - On Wednesday night, Congress leader Manoj Mhatre was haked to death at the basement of his building. It is being said that his cousin brother Prashant Mhatre is after his murder. Local congress party workers said that he was murdered owing to political reasons.
Manoj Mhatre resided at Bhiwandi’s Anjur Fata.
When he reached his building, two unknown assailants pounced on him. One fired shots at him while the other hacked him with an axe. He got grieviously injured. He was taken to Jupiter hospital but was declared dead on the arrival.
The entire incident was captured in a CCTV where assailants are captrued while killing Mhatre. Police will go through the CCTV footage recovered from Samruddhi Apartments where the killing took place.
