There are reports about controversial Islamic Preacher, Zakir Naik, being extradited from Malaysia to India. However, Naik has denied this report.

India has been looking forward to getting hold of Naik for a long time now. Naik has been accused of giving hate speeches, money laundering, and funding terrorist organisations. Also, Naik has been accused of inspiring ISIS terrorists for the attacks in Dhaka in 2016. In the attacks, an Indian girl was killed along with many Bangladesh nationals.

Since 2016, Naik has not stepped in India and has been living in Malaysia for a long while now. He had also requested the Malaysian government to make him a permanent resident. According to reports, Zakir Naik was apparently being sent to India.

However, Naik has rejected this report and said that he has no plans to visit India and will travel until there’s a fair trial. He said that when India elects an unbiased government, he will visit the country. National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also rejected the claim.

Naik has been framed under Unlawful Activity Prevention Act (UAPA) and Section 20 (B), 153 (A), 295 (A), 298 and 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The central government has imposed a five-year ban on Naik’s organisation – Islamic Research Foundation.
