The Cuffe Parade police have arrested a con man who had all plans to run away from the hotel by not paying the bill. This incident took place at a Taj Presidency hotel where 61 year old accused Bhimsent John stayed at a hotel for one whole day and did not pay the bill which went up to Rs. 50,000.

On 4 June, John booked the room at Taj Presidency hotel through a central reservation. On 6 June, he checked into the hotel around 9 pm. He told the manager that his friends will be joining him later and will pay the bill. For one whole day, he enjoyed the stay. Next day, he had all plans to run away in the night. Around 11.30 pm, John left the room but the alert staff stopped him and asked him about the pending bill. When he was asked to pay Rs. 50,000, he said that he had no money. Then he was handed over to the Cuffe Parade police.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that 61-year-old Bhimsent John is a Tamil Nadu resident who used to work with tours and travels company where he was duped by the owner. Enraged John came to the hotel and vented out the anger by not paying the bill. He had planned to dupe more such 200 hotels. In 2014, he had stayed in the same hotel. Not only this, he is also wanted in Tamil Nadu for petty crimes.
