Dhiraj Patil had been booked for submitting fake certificates to the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) to set up a clinic. MMC officials had said that Dhiraj Patil, 29, was a medical practitioner from Sangli district and completed his post graduation in medicine from Kazakhstan in 2012.

As per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India (MCI), he had to clear a screening test by National Board of Examination (NBE) to practice in India. He submitted the MCI registration certificate, an NBE marksheet and screening test passing certificate of 2012 to MMC in 2016.

It came to light that he had forged the documents as there was another document which was already registered with the same roll number.

He had been on the run for 3 years and now, Agripada police have arrested him. In this case, Dhiraj had applied for an anticipatory bail in the local court and the high court in Sangli, which the court had dismissed.

However, police are investigating further on the source of these fake documents.
