Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on wee hours of Friday recovered explosives, which they suspect is RDX from Mumbai's Nala Sopara area.

The officials recovered the explosives from a house belonging to one Vaibhav Raut. Later, Raut was apprehended by the ATS and has been taken in for questioning.

The officials received information that the RDX was spotted in Bhandarali area of Nalasopara west. A team from the state ATS immediately swung into action, reached the spot and seized the material. They then traced the contents back to Raut.

Raut is believed to be a Sanatan Sansthan worker. The raw material found at the shop includes large quantity gunpowder and detonators, enough to make two dozen bombs.

The ATS has arrested Vaibhav Raut and will present him before the Bhoiwada Court in Mumbai later this afternoon after documents are in place.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Raut's lawyer has slammed the ATS for arresting his client. '

The ATS has not intimidated us about the arrest of Vaibhav Raut. I wonder what kind of law is being followed in this country and in Maharashtra. We'll take all legal steps,'' Sanjiv Punalekar, Vaibhav Raut's lawyer, told ANI.
