Commuters waiting for the local train on platform number 1 at Dadar went berserk after seeing what happened in a quick time. An elderly’s mobile was snatched off his hand and he was pushed outside of the running local train.
Incident took place when victim Indrakumar Phadnis (67) was going towards Kalyan.
There was no GRP person for his help. He was not given the first-aid as there was no one. Aqib Sheikh and Jayesh Vishwakarma came in for his help. They took him for treatment and provided him with water. Deputy Manager, Dadar station called 108 helplines for medical assistance, but to his dismay, there was no one available. Phadnis was rushed to Sion hospital in the private taxi.
Railway has started the 108 helplines for commuters’ assistance but if it does not function what is the use. This has become a concern as the facilities available for the commuters are on paper not in service.
