In a recent development, a public alert was issued by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) following the circulation of forged appointment letters for the post of Staff Nurse/Nursing Brother under the so-called “Special Candidate Selection Process 2025.” Officials revealed that these letters, which carried a counterfeit signature of Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar and were printed on a fabricated NMMC Health Department letterhead, had misled several job aspirants.
According to NMMC authorities, no such recruitment orders had been issued by the corporation. The civic body urged citizens not to fall prey to fraudulent claims or rely on unofficial messages shared through social media. A police complaint has been lodged against unidentified individuals responsible for creating and distributing the fake letters.
An official from the Health Department stated that a formal complaint had been filed and assured that stern legal action would be pursued against those involved. The corporation clarified that the written examination for 668 sanctioned posts had already concluded, and the official selection process was still underway.
The administration stressed that these forged appointment letters were entirely unrelated to the ongoing recruitment process. Citizens have been advised to verify all employment-related information through official channels only, as the NMMC continues to investigate the matter to safeguard public trust. This incident has once again highlighted how fraudulent recruitment scams exploit the aspirations of job seekers, prompting authorities to caution the public against believing any unverified communications.
