Foreign currency thieves performed Char Dham yatra to wash off sin

Vile Parle police have cracked a foreign exchange theft of Rs 1.5 crore and arrested three persons in this connection. It has come to fore that the accused had gone to the pilgrimage of Char Dhams to wash their sin.

According to information, foreign currency worth Rs 1.5 crore was stolen from Manglik Forex and VKC Forex on March 18. The stolen foreign currency was including Pound, US Dollars, Euro, Indonesian currency. On CCTV inspection, it was found that employees of these companies were involved in the theft.

After registering a case against the accused, police went to Rajasthan to trace the accused but in vain. The police team was stationed in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab for 17 days but police failed to trace the accused. Finally, police received a tip off that the accused are going to visit Mumbai Central area to exchange the foreign currencies, a trap was laid and arrested three persons involved in this crime, informed Virendra Mishra, DCP of Zone 8.
