Gamdevi police are looking out for Revati Khare who duped many people by collecting donations in the name of the nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar. She used to meet a lot of people at different locations in Lata Mangeshkar's name and would boast about her connections with her.
A FIR has been lodged against Revati Khare under sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for cheating), and 471(using genuine as forged) of the Indian Penal Code. The police have not made any arrest as Khare is absconding.
Accused took the donation from a person who later called up Lata Mangeshkar congratulating her for an event. Hearing this she was shocked and upon an investigation, she got to know that some woman was duping people in her name by collecting donations. Later Lata Mangeshkar's PA filed a police complaint against the accused who is on run.
