In a disturbing incident of a grandfather raping his granddaughter sent waves of shock when it was further found out that the victim is now pregnant. The girl is a resident of Charkop in Kandivali West. The accused, on the other hand, was working as a watchman of a building in Ahmedabad. He used to come down to meet his son, daughter-in-law and his granddaughter quite often.
Further, on 3rd April when the girl complained about the pain in her stomach, her parents took her to the Kapoor hospital for medical checkup. Post checkup, it was reported that the girl was two months pregnant. Parents of the victim child registered a complaint with Kandivali police station following which, the police arrested the accused on 4th April under IPC sections 376 and Protection of Children from sexual offences (POCSO) Act.
