Jailed NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam, who had recently created a controversy by abusing the on-duty police personnel, has alleged that an assistant police inspector demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 from him and harassed him for not paying the bribe. As police refused to register a case in this regard, Kadam approached the court. The court has ordered an inquiry into the incident and following this, the Nagpada police have registered Kadam’s statement on Tuesday.

Akhilesh Singh, DCP of zone 3, informed Mumbai Live that police have registered MLA Ramesh Kadam’s statement following the court orders.

Recently, a video of Kadam abusing the on-duty police personnel had gone viral in the social media. He was seen abusing API Manoj Pawar who was taking him to JJ Hospital for medical treatment from the Byculla Jail. The video had created a stir in political circles as Kadam had threatened the cops to lodge a breach of privilege motion against them. After the incident, a case was registered against Kadam in Nagpada police station and he was also arrested in this connection.
