Mumbai - Kalachowki police have arrested an agent named Dutta Khade who cheated mill workers who had won the lottery for a Mhada home. The agent was arrested on Thursday, while investigation it was found that he trapped at least 10 mill workers.
He is working as Mhada agent from past many years. Dutta Khade is a resident of Priyadarshini, Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar. He used to sell the houses that mill workers won in the lottery at high rates to the common people.
Satish Chavan and Manjula Gaikwad were the recent victims of his trap, after not hearing anything from him they went to Kala Chowki Police station. "The agent was hiding in his Ghatkopar's house as per the information, he was running from past three-four months, we deployed a trap and arrested him as per that," told Senior Inspector Dilip Ugle to Mumbai Live.
They have registered a complaint against Dutta Khade. Without the help of high ranked Mhada officers and workers, the scam like such can't be conceived, leader of mill workers union Datta Iswalkar has alleged. Mumbai Live recently did a sting operation and exposed the clout between corrupt Mhada officers and agents.
