Kherwadi police arrests dealer for duping people; to probe MHADA officials for more information

Kherwadi police have arrested a well-known dealer Javed Patel who used to dupe people under the pretext of selling MHADA homes which belonged to transit camps of MHADA's Mumbai Repair and Reconstruction Board. He also used to buy transit homes and used to sell without informing MHADA.

Mumbai Live did a news report on how MHADA officials and dealers go hand in hand when it comes to duping people. This news report has been authenticated with the arrest of Javed Patel.

BEST worker Vijay Kamble was promised by Patel a MHADA house, for which he took INR 19 lakh. After taking money, Patel did not keep his promise and duped him instead. Kamble then registered his complaint at MHADA’s vigilance department also filing a complaint at Kherwadi police station.

Upon investigation, police received important details of the dealer as for how he used to trick people by usurping their money. It is also being said that, the police will soon expose the group who carries out such illegal acts.


Who is Javed Patel?

Javed Patel is a known dealer who resides at Goregaon, Bibisar Nagar, MHADA, building no. 3. Since 2003, he has been duping people.

Kherwadi police arrested him on September 22 and since then he has been kept in police custody said Rajendra Patil, senior police inspector, Kherwadi police station. However, for the last couple of days, he has been admitted to BHABHA hospital owing to health issues.
