Crime is steadily increasing in the state and there has been an increase in the incidents of murder. Most of the incidents of carnage have occurred in Mumbai and Pune, while Thane and Nagpur are under control, as per the report by Loksatta. Mumbai has the highest number of murders at 68 followed by Pune (42) and Thane (39). This information has come to light from the website of Maharashtra Police.

 

Since the beginning of the year, there has been an increase in serious crimes in the state. There was also an increase in incidents of sexual abuse and molestation of girls, young women and women. Incidents of murder and attempted murder are on the rise in the state. Due to the increase in criminals and crime, the functioning of the police officers is being questioned. Due to the continuous failure of the police department to crack down on criminals in the state, gangs of criminals who carry weapons like pistols and swords have become active.

In view of the increasing number of serious crimes in the state, it is necessary to take action from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Office of the Director General of Police. In the state, 68 murders have taken place in the city of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai till the month of June. There have been 42 murder incidents in Pune city and 39 murder incidents in Thane city. Incidents of carnage in Nagpur city were initially under control. However, Nagpur has reached the figure of 38 till the month of June.


The highest number of murders occurred in the month of May

Taking into account the six-month data across the state, the month of May recorded the highest number of homicides (42). The highest number of murders occurred in Mumbai (18) and Thane (12) in the month of May. Also, murders have taken place in Pune (11) and Nagpur (6). Even in January, 36 murder incidents have occurred in four major cities of the state.



Most murders are from illicit relationships

It has been revealed that most of the murders in the state are due to illicit relationships, love relationships or physical relationships. A shocking reason has emerged that a lover, relative or family member is involved in a family-related murder. Also, in many cases, old enmity, property and money disputes have come to the fore.
