Lamigton Road – A major fire broke out in the Mehta Mansion near Dreamland Theatre in Girgaum on Sunday night at around 8 pm. No casualties were reported in this incident. It was a level-III fire due to which residents in nearby buildings had to vacate their buildings. Mehta Mansion is a commercial building where a large number of offices are located. The fire gutted office furniture. On getting information, eight fire engines were sent to the spot to douse the fire. The efforts to control the fire were until late night. The exact reason behind this fire is not known but a short circuit is suspected to be the one.
