A 49-year-old PhD holder has died in Goregaon, Mumbai. His body was found hanging from the fan. According to preliminary estimates, it is said that he committed suicide. The deceased's name is Ravi Yadav and he hails from Dombivli. He was working in a multinational pharmaceutical company. The police said that the exact cause of his death is yet to be revealed, as per the report by The Free Press Journal.
Yadav's body was found in his girlfriend's flat on June 24 at Premnagar Society, Mhada Colony in Goregaon West. According to the police, he used to live with this girlfriend at times. She said in her statement that he came to her flat to stay as usual. By 11 pm she was in another room. Later on entering the hall, she found Yadav hanging from the fan by a rope.
She told the police that she tried to retrieve the body with the help of a woman living next door. However, the towing rope loosened and the body fell to the ground, causing bleeding. Meanwhile, another neighbour informed the chairman of the society, who lodged a complaint with the police.
What is the cause of suicide?
Police have found a noose hanging on Yadav's body. The rope was sent to JJ Hospital for postmortem examination. A case of accidental death was registered on Tuesday and the police said that the investigation is on and the reason for the suicide is yet to be revealed.
