The reason for the attempt of suicide is still not known and police are investigating the matter

UPDATE: The man who jumped has been identified as Nikhar Jagdish Shahu and has been admitted to KEM hospital. 

A man tried to commit suicide by jumping into the sea at Bandra-Worli Sea Link, near Pol No. 90 towards Worli around 11:50 am. The information was received from Traffic Control and required agencies have been moved to the spot, confirmed Disaster Management Unit (DMU).

According to the preliminary reports, the man jumped had asked a taxi-driver to slow down as he wanted to click some pictures. After he got down, he slowly walked and before the taxi-driver could realise, the man jumped from the sea link.

The localities, as well as people from the Koli community, started looking for the person and later, they rescued the 31-year-old man. 

The reason for the attempted suicide is still unknown. Meanwhile, police are investigating the matter for further details. They are also trying to retrieve the details of the man.
