Dadar is one of the most crowded railway stations in Mumbai, yet Aurangabad resident Mahavir Gosavi managed to end his life by hanging himself on a foot-over-bridge on Thursday. His dead body was hanging the entire night of Thursday until Shivaji Park police brought down his dead body on Friday morning. Police are investigating more to know the motive.

What's The Story?

 

An Aurangabad resident Mahavir Gosavi hanged himself by tying a saree on a new foot-over bridge which is joined to Tilak Bridge. According to the police, he hanged himself on Thursday night and his dead body remained hanging throughout the night Thursday night.


Debate Over The Jurisdiction

Commuters informed the police after witnessing the dead body on the foot-over bridge. However, police took another hour to check which jurisdiction the situation belonged to as the man had committed suicide in between Central and Western Railway area. Finally, it was cleared that the body was in Shivaji Park police station's area and police took another hour to bring down the body. The body was then sent for post-mortem. Shivaji Park's senior inspector Gangadhar Sonawne said that the investigation is going on.

What Was The Reason For Suicide?

Mahavir Gosavi was an Aurangabad resident and was residing at Manmad's Khasgaon with his wife and two children. He was a tailor by profession and had started his tailoring by taking a loan.

Suddenly, Mahavir came to Mumbai and for the last three days, his phone was switched off, according to his brother Sanjay Gosavi.

Police are of the view that Mahavir attempted suicide as he was not able to repay the loan he had taken for his tailoring business.
