A 40-year-old man was stoned to death at Shivaji Park. With the help of CCTV, the Shivaji Park police have arrested the accused Manoj Amit Sahare alias Manya (30) and a case of murder has been registered against him. It has been said in the investigation that the accused did this while under the influence of alcohol. Police are verifying that claim.
A dead body was found on the footpath of Rukmini Sadan building in Shivaji Park on Friday. After receiving the information, the police seized the body and took it to Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion for autopsy. Shivaji Park Police registered a case of accidental death in this case. Preliminary examination revealed that the deceased had severe head injuries. Hence, Shivaji Park Police registered a case of murder in this case. When the police investigated the matter, it was found that the name of the deceased was Chandan.

Examination of the CCTV revealed a young man with the deceased Chandan. Police found that the young man who was with the deceased was Manoj Sahare alias Manya and he was working as a garbage collector. During a search, a person resembling the person in the CCTV footage was found near the Manmala temple in Mahim. When asked his name, he said his name is Manoj Sahare. When he was detained and interrogated, he confessed to the crime. The accused Manoj lives on a footpath at Bengal Club in Shivaji Park. The accused killed Chandan by crushing him with a stone. The stone used in the murder has been seized by the police. Police said the accused is currently in police custody.
