On Monday, a 33-year-old man allegedly killed his former live-in partner by slitting her throat in a moving auto rickshaw on Khairani Road in Andheri East.

Sakinaka police were successful in arresting the accused, Deepak Borse, who also tried killing himself by slitting his own throat. He has been admitted to Rajawadi Hospital, as per the reports by Hindustan Times. Borse, who is said to be in an inebriated state, got enraged after 30-year-old Panchsheel Jamdar refused to move back with him, the police said.

Accused was drunk and had chopper on him
The incident took place around 4:00 pm when Borse was dropping Jamdar at her home in Sangharsh Nagar in Sakinaka, according to the police. Initially both were living together in Ulhasnagar but she returned to her parents’ place after frequent fights with the accused. He had come to resolve the issue and convince her to return.

A senior police official from Sakinaka police said that her refusal irked him and in that rage he slit her throat with a chopper he had hidden in his clothes. He also slashed his hand. The women immediately got out of the auto and fell on the road, added a senior police official.

Borse then tried to flee from the spot but was caught by the police and passersby who spotted the bleeding woman. While Borse was given treatment at Rajawadi hospital and brought back to the police station, Jamdar was declared dead on arrival, said the police.

Jamdar was married, abandoned  and had two children
Jamdar had two children under the age of five. Initially, she used to live with her husband in Karnataka but a year ago he abandoned her after which she came back to Mumbai at her parents place.
