Officials state that if the iron object had come under the wheel, the local would have derailed. The motorman informed the RSF and further investigation was held immediately which revealed more information about the man.

Following a recent investigation, the Railway Security Force (RSF) in Mumbai has arrested a 30-year-old man who had for throwing a spear, as the train passed on the railway track near Charni Road Station on the Western lines. This could have led to a massive disaster had anything gone wrong. Upon understanding the same, officials using the CCTV footage found out more about the incident and arrested Anil Waghela who had thrown the spear out of anger.

The incident was reported at around 6 am on Saturday, as the train was heading towards Churchgate, and the spear was thrown under the speeding train. Upon hearing the sound, the motorman immediately stopped the same and inspected the locomotive where he found an iron spear stuck in the battery box. The local was stopped for some time to remove this item with the help of Gangaman, technical staff.

CCTV footage helped the team understand that a man was seen carrying an iron object.

Further inquiry states that Anil Waghela is a homeless young man who often sleeps on the sidewalk near the Charni Road station. The pedestrian bridge repair work is being conducted near the bridge, due to which he has been sleeping in this area for over 6 days.
