Amidst allegations of rape currently heating up the state's politics, the demand for the resignation of Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde is gaining momentum across the state. Opposition BJP leader Krishna Hegde, in a letter to the Mumbai Police, alleged that Munde was being blackmailed by the woman named Renu Sharma. After Hegde's allegations, Renu Sharma has now broken her silence and given an explanation on social media. She said in her tweet that Dhananjay Munde did all this consciously. "I was not part of any honey trap," she explained. However, Renu's tweet has increased Sarnaik's difficulty.

Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde's extramarital affair and allegations of rape have added to his woes. Reacting to the seriousness of the issue, party president Sharad Pawar himself said that he would take a decision on the Munde issue after holding discussions with key party leaders. Similarly, BJP leader Krishna Hegde had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Renu Sharma, the woman who had accused Munde, had tried to trap her in the same manner.

However, Pratap Saranaik, who was already on the radar of the ED, has been strewn in the mess as Munde had allegedly met Hegde at a party thrown by Sarnaik.

Moreover, BJP leader Krishna Hegde added that “After Renu Sharma filed a case of rape against Dhananjay Munde, many things are coming to light. According to the information received from my sources, she blackmails and steals money in this way. I managed to stay away from her. I never met her. Two days ago, I saw the allegations against Dhananjay Munde and I came forward to give this information to the police," Hegde said. Meanwhile, MLA Pratap Saranaik is yet to comment on the matter.
