The five-year-old Tausif Sheikh was killed by his own uncle Wasiulla who wanted to teach his brother a lesson. The Wadala TT police have arrested Wasiulla Sheikh (23) who admitted to killing the boy by drowning him.
The incident took place on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Shanti Nagar, Wadala, when deceased Tausif went missing from his residence, in the evening. His parents searched him everywhere but were not able to find him. Eventually, they went to police station and filed a missing complaint.
Next day, the police found a dead body of Tausif Sheikh near Shanti Nagar’s nullah, and was immediately rushed to Sion Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police started the investigation wherein they checked the CCTV footage and saw Tausif walking with a man. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the man was his own uncle. Police took him into custody and after grilling him for hours, he gave into his crime. Prior to this, the accused Sheikh was out on a bail and had come to Mumbai for work.
Deceased Tausif’s father and his accused brother Wasiulla used to fight over property issues.
