A person who smuggled diamonds worth INR 1.5 crore in tea bags was caught at the airport on Wednesday. This action was taken by the officials of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs Department. The arrested accused has been identified as Mukkim Raza Ashraf Mansuri and is a resident of South Mumbai. He came from Dubai to Mumbai.
He had brought 34 diamonds in a tea bag. The official informed that those diamonds are 1559.68 carats and their price is INR1.49 crore. He was to be paid for smuggling diamonds, however, before he could sell, he was arrested.
