A 17-year-old girl was raped by a 29-year-old engineer in Malabar Hill area. A 29-year-old engineer, Indrajit Guhneogi, was arrested by the police in this case. In the police investigation, Indrajit has made shocking revelations. Indrajit misused his neuropsychology knowledge to befriend a young woman. After that, it has come to light that the girl was raped in the name of counselling.
What exactly is the case?
On June 23, after an argument with her mother, the victim left the house at 10:00 pm in a fit of anger. Indrajit Guhneogi saw the girl while she was sitting crying at Marine Drive. By misusing his knowledge of neuropsychology, Indrajit took the young victim into his confidence. Indrajit promised help to the victim on the pretext of counselling. After this the girl gave her mobile number to Indrajit and she returned home.
The next day, the young lady thanked Indrajit for his counselling through a WhatsApp message. It was then that Indrajit seized the opportunity and invited the young lady to meet him at Malabar Hill for counselling. After three days, the young lady went to Indrajit's house. Then Indrajit raped the victim. After this, the girl got scared and blocked Indrajit's number on June 26, police informed.
A case has been registered against Indrajit under various sections
But, after coming home, the mother noticed that the victim's behaviour had changed. After that, when the mother questioned her, the victim narrated the incident. A case was registered against the accused on July 1. On July 2 around 3:00 am, the police arrested the accused Indrajit. A case has been registered against him under section 363, 354, 376.
Study of neuropsychology to apply for army recruitment
Police said that Indrajit is a native of West Bengal. Some of his family members are in the army. Indrajit was also trying for army recruitment. But, he consistently failed. The Army was also prescribing the study of neuropsychology for army recruitment. Indrajit also organised sessions on neuropsychology.
The woman paid the rent of Indrajit's house
In the year 2022, Indrajit met a fashion designer woman from Malabar Hill. The woman was impressed by Indrajit's knowledge of social media and neuropsychology studies. After this, the woman offered Indrajit a job as a digital marketer. Also, this woman was paying INR 55,000 as rent for Indrajit's house, according to the police. 'Mid Day' has reported about this.
