Mumbai police arrested 18 members of the Karni Sena for illegally gathering outside the T-Series office located in Andheri (West) on Monday, June 26. The group is known for its strong stance on cultural and religious issues. It had staged a protest against the film Adipurush and its director, Om Raut.

The protest involved anti-Om Raut chants and slogans. The Karni Sena members gathered near Citi Mall and yelled obscenities. The intensity of the protest escalated when one of the Karni Sena members sprayed black paint on the T-Series insignia at the gate. The accused was identified as Shivdev singh Tomar.

The police responded by detaining the protesting Karni Sena members. Senior inspector Jaywant Shinde of the Amboli police station confirmed that charges have been filed against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Maharashtra Police Act, and the Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act. However, each defendant was granted bail upon submitting an INR 15,000 bond.

The Karni Sena members were from different cities, including Indore, Gwalior, Sinhor, and Jharkhand. Indalsingh Rana, the chairman of the Kshatriya Karni Sena's Madhya Pradesh chapter, stated that their protest was directed against the objectionable content present in the film Adipurush and their dissatisfaction with Om Raut as its director. Rana also justified the defacement of the T-Series name board.

One of the major concerns raised by the Karni Sena members revolves around the portrayal of Seeta Mata's character in Adipurush. They argue that the outfit and speech of the character are offensive and demand a complete ban on the movie.
