At the beginning of the year, corruption cases in the Mumbai Police department came into limelight even after Police Commissioner Subodh Kumar Jaiswal had taken strong steps to fight against bribery.

Although the government's goal of reducing corruption and giving clean administration is being achieved, police officers were apprehended for accepting a bribe. The Mumbai Police Commissioner Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has taken firm action due to the emergence of various cases related to bribing in the beginning of the year.

Officers and employees who were caught taking a bribe earlier were suspended from service. The action was taken against them only after proving the crime. The suspended officer got half salary in the service.

Now, anyone caught taking a bribe will directly be dismissed and there won’t be an investigation process or he won’t even be suspended.

Jaiswal has started taking rigorous action against the bribe takers now, to get rid of corruption in the administration. In addition, some important instructions have been given to police personnel which includes talking to the citizens politely, regulating talking on the phone, to not fall prey to any person, failure in doing so would result in strict actions against them.
