Mumbai Police raided a hookah parlour on Tuesday night and detained some people. They are said to include stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui. The police got information about illegal consumption in the hookah parlour, after which they raided it.


According to a report by 'NDTV', the police raided and detained some people, including Munawar Faruqui. “Our team got information about tobacco being used in the name of hookah in a hookah bar in Mumbai. After that we raided. After checking the items found there, some people were detained and booked. Munawar Faruqui is also included among those detained," said an official related to the raid.

A case was registered after the raid

According to Mumbai Police, the winner of 'Bigg Boss 17' Munawar Faruqui and 13 others were detained after raiding a hookah parlour in Fort area. All of them were released after interrogation. A case has been registered against all of them. These hookah parlours were being run illegally. During the raids, INR 4,400 in cash and INR 13,500 worth of goods were seized. A case has been registered in this case under the section of Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act.


Munawar Faruqui shared an Instagram story

The Instagram story shared by Munawwar Farooqui is in discussion after the news of his arrest. He has written in the story that he is travelling even though he is tired, sharing a photo from Mumbai airport. Meanwhile, Munawwar Farooqui has yet to comment on the raid.
