Some of the rickshaw and taxi drivers at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus are extorting passengers by charging huge fares to travel nearby distances. This robbery has been going on for many years and the police are not taking any action. Therefore, the looting of passengers continues day by day.
Meanwhile, two days ago, Mohammad Chand, who lives in Kurla area, had come to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to go to his village. At this time, taxi driver Satish Singh (40) and rickshaw driver Ashish Sapkal (23) forcibly took INR 700 from Chand. After the video of this whole incident was circulated on social media, Tilak Nagar police took serious note of the matter and immediately registered a case.
After contacting the passenger Chand, the police got information about the rickshaw and taxi driver. Accordingly, the police investigated and arrested both the accused from Subhash Nagar area of Chembur. These accused have robbed many passengers in a similar manner and the police are investigating the matter further.
