A case has been registered against three men for allegedly raping a 42-year-old woman and burning her genitals with a cigarette in Mumbai's Kurla area.
Police officials stated that the victim has alleged in her complaint that at around 5 am on November 30, someone knocked on the door of her house while she was sleeping. When she opened the door, there was no one outside, but as she turned to close the door, three men entered the house.
One of the accused pushed the woman to the floor pointing the knife at her. He slashed her on the chest, arm and burnt her private parts with a cigarette. After this, the three sexually assaulted her and threatened to kill her.
According to the FIR, the suspects have been identified as Bablu, Wasim and Munna.
The woman approached the Kurla police and her statement was recorded. A police officer said that the victim was admitted to Bhabha Hospital for two days. Based on the woman's complaint, the accused are booked under sections 376 (rape), 376 (d) (gang rape), 377 (unnatural offences), 452 (trespass in house after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 354 (prediction of woman) assault or criminal force to her with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said the accused have not been arrested yet as they are verifying the allegations and collecting evidence. Kurla police have approached the doctor to obtain the medical report regarding the allegations of injuries on her body.
