A police constable died on Wednesday due to an injection given by mobile thieves. A case of murder has been registered under IPC 302 in that regard. Dadar Railway and Mumbai Police have formed 10 to 12 teams in this matter and further investigation is underway. The accused hit the policeman's hand and tried to steal his mobile phone. When he chased the thieves, the accused surrounded them and injected them. This incident took place between Matunga and Sion railway station.


Vishal Pawar was working in the Local Armory Division (LA) of the Mumbai Police. On Sunday (April 28), he was travelling from local to Mumbai when he was hit on the hand by thieves between Matunga and Sion station. At that time, his mobile fell. Pawar ran after the thief who was running away with the mobile phone. At this time, after going some distance, other accomplices of that thief came there. They gave an injection to Pawar. After that, Pawar became unconscious. When he woke up after twelve hours on Monday, he somehow went to his house in Thane. On reaching there, his condition worsened and he was admitted to a local hospital. He gave this information in his statement to the local police at the hospital. After that Pawar's health deteriorated and he died on Wednesday.

A case was registered under sections 392, 394 and 328 of IPC at Kopri police station in Thane. But since the incident took place in the jurisdiction of Dadar Railway Police, this crime has been classified under Dadar Railway Police. On Thursday, the Dadar Police extended the section of murder under Section 302 of IPC in this case. Pawar was originally from Jalgaon. He joined the police force in 2015. He is survived by his wife, parents. They got married three years ago.
