Dr. Patil, associated with the Malti IVF Centre in Nashik, was presented in court and remanded to five days of police custody for further interrogation. Authorities believe he played a key role in coordinating the racket and may have operated an unauthorised fertility centre in Thane as part of the scheme.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking to uncover the full network of individuals involved, including other medical professionals.
The case has highlighted serious violations in egg donation practices and prompted law enforcement to strengthen oversight of fertility clinics to prevent such illegal activities in the future.
