Two minors aged 10 and 11 consumed poison at their residence in Powai following a sexual assault. After consuming poison, an 11-year-old boy died while a 10-year-old boy is still battling for his life. For now, Powai police have formed a team to nab the culprit who is still on run.
Sexual molestation led to suicide
It was a usual day for all but for 'them' it was not. 10-year-old and his 11-year-old friend had started behaving in a weird way by isolating themselves from their family and friends. From July 6, they had stopped attending to classes. Their parents received a call from the classes but their parents did not suspect any foul play.
However, the fateful day arrived when on 12 July, both the boys started vomiting blood at their respective residences. When they were asked by their parents, they informed that they had consumed rat poison. One boy was shifted to Sion and later to KEM hospital who is in a critical stage. While the other minor was taken to a family doctor and then he was shifted to Jogeshwari’s Trauma Care hospital. However, he lost his life on July 13.
One of the minor’s father did not seek investigation and hastily buried his son. He was helped by a doctor who stated in a death certificate that the minor died due to dehydration.
The minor boy who is still battling for his life at KEM hospital narrated the entire story to his parents. He told his mom that some person name Jahid used to take him to a secluded place where he used to sodomize him.
We have recorded mother’s statement and on the basis of the statement, we have registered a complaint against the unknown accused under POCSO act,” Naveen Reddy, DCP, Zone 10.
