Kandivali – This news report will make you clearly understand how liquor addicts have become fearless these days. They are not afraid of police action against them. Their daring has crossed all the limits as they have started drinking liquor just 25 meters away from a police chowki on Linking Road in Kandivali West. In spite of taking action, police have become a mute spectator.

The nuisance of liquor addicts has become common on this road. A year ago, Zone 11 DCP Vikramsingh Deshmane had taken a stringent action against these boozers. Remaining silent for few months, these addicts have again started creating chaos in the area. Many of them sit in the parked autorickshaws and gulp down the liquor and start creating a nuisance.

It is pertinent to note here there are four schools and nearly half a dozen tuition classes on Link Road in Lalji Pada here. There are two beer shops, one wine shop and one country liquor shop is located in this area besides some Chinese snacks stalls which cater to these addicts. A large number of women, school, and college going girls use this road for various reasons.

Many incidents of eve teasing are reported but local residents do not complaint fearing untoward reaction from these addicted anti-social elements. When people lodged a complaint against them, two police personnel customarily visit the area and it brings peace but only for a short span of time.
