Panvel: Fake obscene photo sent to girl, case registered against minor

A 16-year-old minor girl from Taloja Colony was sent a fake obscene photo of her on her Instagram account repeatedly via messages. She was blackmailed to engage in sexual activity in order to stop sharing obscene photos. Taking cognizance of this serious matter, Senior Police Inspector Avinash Kaldate of Taloja Police Station has registered a case against the boy after the complaint given by the victim.

The concerned victim and the 17-year-old son of the alleged molester of the victim live in CIDCO's mega housing project in Taloja Colony. On March 15, the victim reached the police station in frustration after repeatedly receiving messages. The victim girl has a hobby of making reels. Taking advantage of this, the suspect boy sent her a picture on the victim's Instagram account and demanded that she should have physical intimacy in order to stop receiving her obscene photos from the media. The police have registered a case under Section 354 (d), 506 of IPC and POCSO Act 12 in this case.
