Late traffic head constable Vilas Shinde's son becomes sub-inspector

Deepesh Shinde, son of Mumbai traffic head constable Vilas Shinde, who was killed by a minor and his brother, got posted as a sub-inspector. It was handed over by Mumbai Police commissioner Datta Padsalgikar on the first death anniversary of Vilas Shinde.



He will be sent to Nashik for a police training which will last for a year. But prior to that, we will take his medical test

A 25-year-old Deepesh is a BSc-IT graduate who quit his job after receiving an appointment letter from the police commissioner. This is their third generation who have been working as police personnel. Prior to late Vilas Shinde, his father Vithoba Shinde, now 80-year-old, was working as a sub-inspector with Mumbai Police. Later, Vilas Shinde joined as a traffic head constable. Now, Deepesh Shinde will carry the bastion.

On August 23, a 17-year-old minor and his 20-year-old brother attacked 51-year-old Vilas Shinde with a wooden plank after he was asked to produce his vehicle documents as part of a drive. This incident took place at a petrol pump in Khar. Shinde slipped into a coma after he was brutally assaulted by accused and his brother. However, he succumbed to his injuries on August 31. The brothers were arrested on the day of the incident.
