Oshiwara police have booked ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ fame actor Alok Nath under rape charges. On November 8, filmmaker Vinta Nanda had filed a police complaint against Alok Nath accusing him of raping her 20-years-ago. So far, police have not arrested the veteran Bollywood actor and the investigation is underway.

According to Nanda, 20-years-ago, post a shoot of TV serial 'Tara' and a party, Alok Nath offered to drop her to her residence and raped her. She made the allegations via a Facebook post mentioning that it was difficult to come out of it but gradually, she realised that she had to break her silence. 

She came out during the #MeToo movement which had picked up a pace across the country. On October 8, Nanda filed a complaint with Oshiwara police station. Acting on the complaint, police booked Alok Nath under section 276 of IPC.
