Vinta Nanda files police complaint against Alok Nath at Oshiwara Police station

The writer, producer, and director has spoken about the misdeed conducted by Alok Nath after two decades. She accused that Alok Nath had raped her during their stint the television show in 1990s, 'Tara'.

After revealing about her agony on social media and accusing Bollywood actor Alok Nath of raping her, writer, director, and producer Vinta Nanda has now taken the legal approach to attain justice. On Wednesday, she filed a police complaint against Alok Nath at Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police station. The accusations against the ‘sanskaari’ actor came after the writer disclosed how the actor had raped her two decades ago after he was sacked from the television show ‘Tara’ for misbehaving with the lead actress.

After filing her complaint, Nanda stated that she has mentioned the details of the incident and the police have assured her that a first information report (FIR) will be drafted accordingly after a thorough investigation. Prior to Nanda’s complaint, Alok Nath had filed a civil defamation suit against Nanda for rape allegations against him and asked for a written apology along with ₹1 compensation.

Responding to the notice, Nanda said that after she received the notice on Thursday, her lawyers have been working upon the case and currently, they are in Dindoshi Court, responding to the notice. Earlier, Nath had filed a criminal defamation complaint in the Amboli police station through his wife for defaming the reputation of the family.

Meanwhile, after Nanda's sexual harassment allegation against Nath, actress Sandhya Mridul also shared her own ordeal. Sandhya shared the instance while shooting a telefilm with him in Kodaikanal and how he had lunged at her and screamed, ‘You’re Mine!’

Throughout India, #MeToo started after actress Tanushree Dutta alleged harassment claim on Nana Patekar a few days ago. Accusations have also been imposed on ‘Queen’ director Vikas Bahl and actor Rajat Kapoor by their former colleagues.
