#MeToo: Comedienne Kaneez Surka accuses fellow comedienne Aditi Mittal of kissing her forcefully on stage

After a storm of allegations against multiple men from different sectors of society, a woman has been accused of violating someone's personal space as comedienne Kaneez Surka took to Twitter to narrate an incident in which Aditi Mittal forcefully kissed her on stage a couple of years back

Comedienne Kaneez Surka on Wednesday accused fellow comedian Aditi Mittal of forcefully kissing her on stage a couple of years back.

Amid the storm of #MeToo accounts by women, this is the first time a woman is being accused as Kaneez took to Twitter to narrate her story. According to her, Aditi walked up on stage and "put her tongue" in her mouth, leaving Kaneez "humiliated", "shocked" and "stripped of choice".

Kaneez accused Aditi of violating her space by forcefully kissing her on stage and she demanded an apology from Aditi.

After this Tweet, Aditi Mittal retweeted her tweet and later, released a statement of her own.

According to Mittal, when she walked up on stage, while taking the mic from Surka, she "pecked her on the lips", as it was a part of her on-stage act. She clarified her stance and once again apologised to Kaneez for making her feel the way she did.

It has been a series of allegations against people from different sectors of the society as right from Bollywood celebrities like Nana Patekar and Alok Nath to Social Media celebs like Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba, this #MeToo wave has seen names fly around and only time will tell who is actually guilty and if this movement in India will be a progressive step going ahead.
