Senior Shiv Sainik Vishnu Gawli (58) of Panvel was murdered by his wife and her boyfriend at Gawli's residence in Khandeshwar. Gawli died suddenly three days ago (Friday) around 11:30 in the morning. The Khandeshwar police registered a case of murder after Vishnu's brother Shivaji lodged a complaint with the police on Saturday midnight.


Vishnu Gawli lived with his family in Siddhivinayak Building, PL 5 Type, Sector 9, Khandeshwar Colony. Vishnu's 37-year-old wife Ashwini and his 26-year-old driver Sameer Thackeray had an illicit relationship. When Vishnu came to know about this, he started opposing Ashwini and Sameer's meeting. According to the police complaint, the duo killed Vishnu the wealth Ashwini would get after his death.

Vishnu was known as a loyal Shiv Saiyan of Balasaheb Thackeray. He was also working for the Maharashtra Board at Andaman Port Blair and he was a propagandist of Veer Savkar's ideas for many years. He used to disguise himself as a spy among the government administrative officers.
