On Monday morning, Western Railway’s Chief Mechanical Engineer's wife allegedly jumped off the fifth floor of her building at Badhwar Park in Cuffe Parade. It is reported that she was undergoing a treatment for depression.  

On the day of the incident, Neeta Agarwal (52) who used to reside in the railway officers’ quarters at Badhwar Park, left her apartment around 11:00 am and went to the fifth-floor residence of A K Singh, Principal Chief Security Commissioner Railway Protection Force, Western Railway, and asked his wife for a glass of water. By the time Singh’s wife returned with the glass, Neeta had left the apartment.

Later, security guards at the main entrance heard a loud thud. When they ran towards the source of the sound, they saw Neeta lying in the compound. She was immediately rushed to Mumbai Central’s Jagjivan Ram Hospital, meant for railway employees, where the doctors declared her dead on arrival and sent her body to St George Hospital for post-mortem. Investigation is underway and Colaba police have registered an accidental death report.
