Recently, a video of a Kandivali resident - who had gone to the bank to deposit money in his account - is doing the rounds on the social media as he was duped by tricksters at the bank and ₹12,000 were stolen from him.

On November 9, Friday, Santosh had gone to Bank of Baroda to deposit ₹50,000 in his bank account. Seeing a man with ₹50,000 in hand, the three accused approached Bhagat and told him that fake notes are being circulated around and he must be aware of the fake notes. After which, they even told him that the police will investigate him if fake currency is found.

Subsequently, Bhagat trusted them and gave them his money to count the notes and determine whether they are fake or not. Finding the man believing their story, the three of them pretended to count the notes and stole ₹12,000 quirkily and then, fled from the spot before Bhagat could realise about the deceit.

Later when Bhagat started counting the notes, he found out about the deficient ₹12,000 and started searching for the three of them in the bank. Upon realising that he had been fooled, he reached Charkop Police station and filed a complaint accordingly.

Thus, the police have now examined the CCTV footage of the robbery and are searching for the three accused individuals.
