Uran police have filed an FIR against former Shiv Sena corporator and former City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) manager Namdev Bhagat for allegedly molesting a 19-year-old girl. The victim has accused Bhagat of molesting her and has submitted their telephonic conversation as proof to the police. She alleged that the untoward incident took place between August 9 and August 19, 2018.

The victim is a Nerul resident and her father works as a security guard in a nearby school. A few days ago, her father was transferred to Belapur’s municipal corporation. In order to cancel the transfer, the victim visited Bhagat at his residence and asked him to cancel the transfer. She alleged that at the behest of offering her help, he molested her.

Further, she added that she had also asked for ₹30,000 as monetary help, for which, he called her to his farmhouse where he molested her again.
For now, no arrest has been made and Uran police are investigating the case for more details.
