Dahisar - Dahisar police on Thursday arrested a youth allegedly responsible for damaging a BMW car of Shiv Sena Corporator from ward no. 1. With the help of the CCTV footage, police have booked the offender.
On 14th February, a rally of Shiv Sena was arranged in Kandarpada's Laxman Mhatre Road in Dahisar West. All Corporators of R-North ward and party workers were present for the rally. The car of Abhishek Ghosalkar (MH47-0011) was parked away from the venue of the rally. Around 9 pm, the car was set on fire people somehow managed to douse the fire.
A police complaint was registered with Dahisar police station; after police went through the CCTV footages they held the youth identified as Dipak Khawde and he is also said to be a Shiv Sainik.
It is said the accused had done this to avenge as, during the last Ganesh Utsav, his group had an altercation over an issue.
On Thursday, Dipak Khadwe was presented before the Borivali court, and he was released on bail after paying the bail amount of Rs 15,000.
