A woman died on Sunday after being hit by a speeding car at Mumbai's Worli Sea Face. With regards to this case, the joggers and runners of Worli carried out a protest at the Worli police station. The name of the woman who died in the accident is Rajalakshmi Rajakrishnan. The lady was walking near Worli Milk Dairy and a speeding car hit her.

What exactly happened?
Rajalakshmi Rajakrishnan, the woman, was walking near the Worli dairy around 6:30 am in the morning. During the same time, the driver of a speeding car lost his control and he hit the woman. After that, the car also hit the divider. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the motor vehicle hit the woman from behind due to the impact,  the woman was thrown away. She was seriously injured and  was shifted to Nair Hospital with the help of locals and police. The doctor there examined her and declared her dead.


The driver was taken into custody by the police
In this case, a case of careless driving will be registered against the driver. The name of the accused driver is Sumer Merchant (23) and he is a resident of Tardeo. He was also injured in the accident. He had gone to drop off a girlfriend. The accident happened while leaving his girlfriend. He has been taken into custody by the Worli police and will undergo a medical examination to check if he had consumed alcohol. But after Krishnan's death, joggers and runners in Worli protested the incident and staged a sit-in at the Worli police station.
