State government to fix GPS device in liquor transporting vehicles

With the increase in excise on liquor, the rates have gone up leading to increased smuggling on liquor in the state. The state government has decided to cut down on this menace. 

GPS devices will be installed on vehicles transporting liquor. Most of the smuggling happens from Goa, Diu and Daman. Spurious liquor is also entering the city through these routes.

State excise minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule set up a committee  under the president of Excise duty commissioner and soon the scheme will be implemented.
