The footage of a dog being brutally beaten by the staff of Vetic, a veterinary hospital in Ghodbunder, was circulated on social media. After this filming was broadcast across the country, a case was registered in the Chitalsar police station late at night against the staff who beat the dog and the officials of Vetic Hospital. Police informed that a case was registered based on a complaint filed by a volunteer of Peta.


Vetik is a veterinary clinic in the Manpada area of Ghodbunder. Many people bring their pets for treatment in this clinic. On Tuesday, a video from the hospital was circulated on social media. In this, the staff of the clinic, Mayur Adhav, was seen punching and kicking the dog on the face and back. It was filmed by Prashant Gaikwad, an employee. It was also circulated on social media. The footage was widely circulated on various social media. Also, angry reactions have started to emerge from all areas about this incident.

An animal lover's organization ‘PAWS’ in Thane informed the municipality, police and other departments about the incident of beating the dog by the staff of the hospital. It was also demanded to file a case in this matter. Meanwhile, Thane Municipal Animal Medical Officer Dr. Kshama Shirodkar filed a complaint at Chitalsar police station. The police detained Mayur and Prashant, employees of Vetik. As a preliminary measure, Vetic Company has fired both of them. But since no case was registered in this case, animal lovers' organizations were expressing their displeasure. The owner of the dog had gone out for a wedding. Action was being demanded from them after they received the footage on social media.


MLA Pratap Sarnaik visited Vetic Hospital on Thursday afternoon. The hospital was closed at that time. Veterinary Medical Officer of Municipal Corporation, Chitalsar Police and representatives of Vetic Hospital were called to know the details of the incident. But the representatives of Vatic Hospital were not present. Sarnaik expressed displeasure about this. He also contacted Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre and suggested that a case should be registered in this matter. After that, a case has been registered under section 429 and 511 against the staff of Chitalsar police station who beat the dog and the officials of Vetik hospital. The Municipal Corporation has also started the process of taking strict action against Vetik Hospital.
