Mumbai Police arrests a couple for cheating candidates by promising IPS or IAS roles

A complaint regarding the couple was registered at Jalandhar, however, upon knowing their presence in Mumbai, Oshiwara Police were asked to take immediate action. They have been arrested by the officers and necessary action is being taken.

Several parents in India dreams of their child becoming an IPS or IAS officer. Meanwhile, many candidates work hard to clear these competitive examinations in India. Amidst the intense competition, one has to study day and night to ensure a good score, and the pattern has remained the same over the years, where achieving the aspired result is not easy.

However, over the years, the country has seen several scams in the field of education. In a recently busted crime, a couple from Punjab has been arrested for luring newcomers by giving them false assurance of an IPS and IAS seat. Upon knowing about the same, Mumbai Crime Branch police immediately took action and caught the couple in the case.

The accused. identified as Puneet Krishnakumar Ralhan (26) and Sapna Puneet Ralhan, were arrested by the officers of Brach-10 from the Crime Branch of Oshiwara. They have been handed over to a special squad of Jalandhar police, and as per reports, they have cheated many such candidates with fake promises.

A case has been registered under sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120 (b) and 34 at the Division 3 police station in Jalandhar city. It is said that the accused had taken money from several people by luring them to become Deputy Superintendents of Punjab Police and IPS Officers of Delhi Police. In return, fake letters were handed over in the name of Ministry of Defense and National Police Academy, Hyderabad.

A special team of Jalandhar police were informed regarding the same, and after knowing about the accused in Mumbai, the department here was asked to arrest them immediately and take necessary action.
